The government of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to be formed at the centre by May 29 will revisit and remodel the Almajiri education system to make it better.
The assurance was given on Thursday by the National Youth Leader of the party, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo, in Abuja, when the youth wing of the party gathered at Unity Fountain to celebrate their victory at the presidential poll.
“The Almajiri programme is going on but for us who are educationists, we know that the system is not functioning the way it ought to, it is just there for political gains but I want to assure you that it will be revisited and implemented in a proper way for the benefit of the Almajiris” he said.
On his expectation for the forth coming governorship polls, he said “There is going to be a band wagon effect most especially in the South-East and the South-South. Those who understand the history of Nigeria politics and how it works will rightly predict victory for APC and it will surely come to pass by God’s grace.”
When asked to list the priority of APC as soon as it forms government, the youth leader said “We have a manifesto and those who know General Buhari can attest to the fact that he is a man that respects institutions and due process, so therefore, our manifesto has spelt it out to focus on the issue of job creation, internal security, prudent management of our resources and other social programmes that will touch the lives of young people and the elderly. I want to assure Nigerians that General Buhari will definitely govern in line with the party’s manifesto.”
Jalo thanked all the youths in Nigeria for coming out en-mass despite what he described as intimidation from the ruling PDP government, saying, the party has made history been the first time an incumbent is losing presidential election in Nigeria.
Earlier, Kogi West Senator elect, Otunba Dino Malaye, who thanked hundreds of APC youth supporters who gathered to celebrate the victory, assured them that as soon as General Muhammadu Buhari is sworn in, corruption will be a thing of the past in Nigeria,
“Chibok girls will be rescued”, he assured also.
