Under-23 Head Coach, Samson Siasia, has assured of the team qualification for the All Africa Games, despite needing a win against Zambia in the second leg of the qualifiers in Lusaka on Sunday.
Siasia, who said the battle will be a herculean task, noted that mission was picking the ticket on Suday.
According to him, the players are condemned to do nothing otherwise.
He gave the assurance before releasing the list of 18 players selected for the match. The team will travel on Thursday.
The coach insisted that if the Zambians could get a draw in Abuja, his wards have no option but to go out there and earn a win.
He frowned at the attitude of Flying Eagles Captain, Musa Mohammed, who took permission to leave the camp to go and collect his international passport in Lagos and refused to return to camp.
The selected goalkeepers for the tie are Daniel Emmanuel and Akande Abiodun, while the selected defenders are Obanor Erhun, Oduduwa Segun, Amuzie Stanley, Atanda Sodiq, Mustapha Abdullahi and Iroha Chukwuebuka.
Siasia named four midfielders and they are Azubuike Okechukwu, Godwin Savior, Mohammed Usman and Sokari Kingsley.
Those expected to get the goals are Etebo Oghenekaro, Ajayi Junior, Onyekachi Peter, Awoniyi Taiwo, Ubong Ekpai and Bernard Bulbwa.
Meanwhile, one of the listed players, Sokari has backed Siasia to qualify for the AAG.
“I am confident that Coach Siasia and his technical crew have perfected the right strategies for the match. That the coach is under pressure is a normal. I must confess that we will change the tie against Zambia.
He added that players are ready to deliver the ticket irrespective of where the match is played.
“We are in a right frame of mind for the match and we are not bothered with the change of venue. What is most important is winning and nothing else. We must be careful not to commit silly errors.”
