It has emerged that the impeachment threat against Ondo State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Alli Olanusi, was his own making.
The 72-year-old politician who is now facing a seven-count charge leveled by the state lawmakers had allegedly invoked the monster that now threatens his political career.
According to sources, Olanusi had always worked against the interest of his boss, Governor Olusegun Mimiko.
He even confirmed this in an interview he granted a national daily recently when he mentioned that he had perfected his move to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the Labour Party (LP) well before the governor defected.
In the permutation of the deputy governor, the House of Assembly election would follow the pattern of the presidential election where the PDP recorded a not too impressive performance.
The deputy governor, believing his new party would have the majority in the Assembly had perfected the move to impeach Governor Mimiko and even went ahead to pick names of those who would form the new cabinet with him.
Candidate of the PDP in the last governorship poll in the state, Olusola Oke, by the arrangement, should have become Olanusi’s deputy.
