WAEC Debts: Group Opposes Decision To Withhold Results

A rights group, the Education Rights Campaign (ERC), has described as insensitive the decision of the West African Examination Council (WAEC), Head of National Office, Mr. Charles Eguridu, to withhold results of candidates.

ERC in a reaction jointly signed by its National Coordinator, Hassan Taiwo-Soweto, and National Secretary, Michael Ogundele, on Tuesday, announced the 2015 May/June WASSCE results.

“ERC considers this decision very insensitive and unacceptable and urges WAEC to immediately reverse itself in the interest of candidates whose future will be severely threatened by this unfortunate decision”.

The group condemned and described the indebtedness of the 13 states as ‘gross irresponsibility, unbridled corruption and financial recklessness which are the reasons they are indebted to WAEC’.
