Why APC Will Win Kogi Governorship – Party Leader

The Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Alhaji Haddy Ametuo, has promised that the party will win the November 21 governorship election and take the state out of long years of corruption and bad leadership.

Ametuo who spoke to Daily Independent on Tuesday regretted that for the past 12 years, when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been in power, the state has not witnessed any development to reckon with.

“The reign of PDP in the state is most regrettable and it is only a mad person that would want the situation in Kogi State to continue the way it is,” he said.

He described the recent comment by the former governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, that Kogi is a PDP state which APC cannot take from the party as the greatest joke of the year.

“He wants good things but does not do the right thing. He brought a successor who is worse than himself.”

The former governor of the state during the meeting of Kogi Elders Advisory Council in Lokoja recently had declared that it would be a great humiliation for the PDP to allow the APC to take over Lugard House in January 2016.

Ametuo stated that the people of Kogi State have realized the mistake they made in voting PDP in office and promised that come November 21, APC would take over Lugard House from PDP which would begin a new chapter in the history of the state.

He further stated that the screening exercise which cleared about 28 aspirants to participate in the governorship primaries was successfully conducted at the National Secretariat of the party.

The party boss expressed optimism that the primary would be conducted without rancor, judging by the level of understanding and the memorandum of understanding signed by the aspirants.
